  • Do I have to pay for your services?

    There are no fees to be paid by any contracted employee using GCR services.

  • What makes you different from other recruitment agencies?

    In addition to 30 years of staffing experience, GCR has an experienced staff of technically knowledgeable recruiters, some of whom posses engineering degrees with years of industry experience. Because our recruiters also have longevity (many have been with us for more than 10 years), the recruiter you talk to today will be the same recruiter you speak with tomorrow. GCR’s staff takes the time to get to know you as an individual because we are interested in helping you reach your career goals and the better we know you, the more likely we can place you successfully.

  • What geographical areas does GCR cover?

    GCR covers the continental United States. GCR’s corporate headquarters are located in Burlington, MA. This office provides staffing both locally and nationally and specializes in the New England states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. GCR also has an office located in Cary, North Carolina, which focuses primarily on staffing throughout the United States. Both offices share a common database, which allows our staff to effectively communicate.

  • Are you a general recruiter or do you specialize in certain industries?

    GCR specializes in placing technical professionals. We work across all industries and typically our jobs fall into the following areas:

    • Engineering (software, hardware, mechanical, quality, industrial, manufacturing)
    • IT (application development, network engineering, software quality, help desk and support)
    • Designers (CAD, mechanical, machine, electro mechanical, PC)
    • Technical writing
    • Project management
    • Project leaders
    • Technicians, inspectors, and assemblers
  • Do you only place contract workers?

    Not at all. While the majority of our positions are for contract work, GCR also handles temporary-to-permanent placements and traditional permanent positions.

  • How and when will I be paid?

    W2 employees are paid on a weekly basis, based on the hours they report, either by calling in or submitting a signed time card by 12:00 PM each Monday. Paychecks are generally available at 12 PM every Thursday, except during holiday weeks when your payday may vary. Paychecks based on signed time cards that are not picked up are routinely mailed at 4:45 PM every Thursday.

    Corporate-to-corporate employees are paid every other week, based on a submitted invoice for services and a GCR timecard signed by an authorized manager. The weekly deadline for invoice submission is Monday at 10 am.

  • Does GCR provide any benefits to candidates?

    Yes, GCR offers benefits to W-2 candidates after meeting an initial 90-day eligibility period. Benefits include:

    • Medical insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield (HMO or PPO Plans)
    • 401K Retirement Plan, administered through The Hartford and managed online 
    • Paid Time Off (PTO)
    • Membership in the Hanscom Federal Credit Union 
    • Direct Deposit for paychecks
  • Does GCR handle Corp-to-Corp positions?

    Yes, we do. To qualify as a Corp-to-Corp candidate, we need the following:

    • A copy of the Corporation Articles of Incorporation
    • A Certificate of Insurance, showing evidence of professional liability insurance and workmen’s compensation insurance
    • A signed Corp-to-Corp agreement
    • A fully executed W9
    • Weekly corporate invoices and GCR signed Time Cards
  • How long has GCR been in business?

    GCR has been in business since August 20, 1980. Originally located in Waltham, MA, our corporate headquarters are now at 281 Cambridge St., Burlington, MA 01803.

  • Do you have direct deposit?

    Yes, GCR offers direct deposit to all W-2 employees. To participate, all you need to do is fill out a little paperwork and submit either a voided check or show a bankcard with both the EFT Routing and account numbers.
